presentation
Me and my group went to the library and then to the Atrium a couple days ago to finish up our presentation. We make the powerpoint and put the pictures we had taken on it. We were going to present on Tuesday but when i put the flash drive in the computer in the classroom, most of our pictures wouldn't show up on the pc. So I sent the pics to Q since he has a pc and i have a mac. Hopefully today in class our presentation will work, because i don't know what else we can do to make our pictures show up..

Interview
We had to interview someone for the group project we're working on. I interviewed my roommate, Erica. We talked for about half an hour about how often she eats in the Atrium and how she feels if she is sitting alone while eating. I also asked her if she has ever notice anything about other people who are eating alone. She said she had noticed some things, which were similar to what my group had observed when we went to the Atrium together. Overall, the interview was interesting. But I wasn't really surprised by anything she said because I know her very well so I pretty much already knew how she would feel about this topic. Although she did have a few ideas that I had not thought of before.

5-annotated bib
We had to write an annotated bibliography for our big project. I've done these before so I wasn't really worried about it. It turned out to me harder than I thought it would be though. Actually writing it wasn't hard, but it took me awhile to find reliable sources about my topic. I procrastinated like I usually do... so it was more stressful than it should have been. I got it done in time though, and I'm pretty happy with the sources I found. Most of them will be very helpful when I am doing in-depth research.
4-group project
I haven't been keeping up with these blogs very well, but I'm gonna try to be more consistent with writing them now. So in English class right now we're working on a group project. My group has been observing people in the Atrium. We noticed a lot of people and how they were acting. Some people were with groups of friends while others were eating by themselves. We saw that there was a big difference in the way those two types of people acted, and decided that was what we wanted to focus on for the project.

#3
Today in English 104 we went over to the writing center. I had never been there before so it was all new to me. And I think the writing center could be very helpful. I think I am a pretty good writer, but I still have trouble writing some papers.
Our rough drafts for the topic proposal are due on Thursday.. so that means I need to get to the library and find some print sources on my topic. I don't think it will be very easy to find sources on my topic, but I'm sure I'll be able to find something.

research topic
In class Thursday we were supposed to come up with a topic that interested us for our paper we will be writing. Usually I have a hard time picking a topic but for some reason I got an idea right away this time. My topic is how are children affected when they are raised by grandparents instead of their parents. This is a really interesting topic to me because my family has helped raise my cousin who is 7. She is now living with her dad and grandma, and her brother who is 12 is living with his grandparents on his mom's side. Their grandparents love them and are doing their best to raise them, but it is not the same as having the parents there every day.
First week of class
In English 104 so far we have gone over the syllabus and done a group project. The syllabus seems pretty easy to understand and pretty straight forward. The main thing that caught my attention about it was the attendance policy. It seems pretty strict but I know there is a reason for that. We will be forced to come to class and that will really help me to be there every day.
